The Sunrise Foundation CIO receives applications from a wide range of charities and each is considered against our published criteria. We then give grants  to enable smaller charities to be more sustainable and have a greater impact on their beneficiaries. We allocate funds where we can see greatest impact upon disadvantaged  individuals, particularly children, living with different challenges like disability, poverty, abuse, neglect, homelessness, mental ill health, social exclusion, learning difficulties or other factors. The recipients of grants then report regularly so we can monitor the use and efficacy of funding.

We can receive ‘just-giving’ donations for Asociación Yanapasun, a charity we already support in Peru, where it is difficult to  make donations remotely – please advise if this is your intention with your donation – the charity there delivers therapy and support to disabled children and adults in a very poor community.  For more information the website is www.yanapasun.org and the facebook page is Asociacion yanapasun.

Sunrise operates fully on a voluntary basis with no overhead costs so all money donated goes directly to carefully selected causes. If you wish to make a donation and desire to know more about our projects then please contact us directly.

Maggie Glastonbury

After enjoying bringing up 2 sons and working in education in Bristol, Maggie travelled to South America to engage in voluntary activity with children. This led to taking over the running of a UK charity working with disabled children in Urubamba, Peru.

Following this experience, she embarked upon a charity serving the same community, providing physiotherapy, psychological support and early stimulation to children, later expanding to include adults.

Currently Maggie travels between UK and Peru to oversee the operations there and develop the work of the foundation in Bristol.

Over the years she has been involved in a range of fundraising activites for many charities, most often running sponsored events.

She continues to spend time with her family and friends, enjoys exercise, salsa, travel, watching rugby and generally making the most of life.

Maggie is committed to trying to help others enjoy life to the full, regardless of disadvantages they face and hopes to do this through the Sunrise Foundation.
